The Texas Secretary of State Drastically Changes Walk-in Apostille Service Policy

The Texas Secretary of State recently announced another horrible decision/rule that will only hurt the general public and international apostille companies like ours that provide rush Texas apostille services for people, businesses, and corporations.

With this new change that takes effect on May 15th, 2024, we (Apostille Texas), or any person or company will no longer be able to guarantee same day or even next day Texas apostille services to anyone.

This is because the new rule states if any person or company walks in and files more than ten documents (not ten orders) in any one day they now have to use a drop-off box to put documents into and await the processing of said documents.

When this happens the Texas Secretary of State authentications unit (the corporations unit is still the same turnaround time) will not issue an apostille certificate on a document until TWO BUSINESS DAYS after it has been filed in person with them after their noon CST deadline.

On the days that we have ten or fewer documents to file our same day Texas apostille services will still apply to all apostille orders that we receive by mail or dropped off at our office by our noon CST same day filing cut-off time please note.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Apostille Texas
